The University Grants
Commission (UGC) has granted Autonomous Status to DJSCE from A.Y. 2019-20
onwards for a period of 10 years, i.e., till the A.Y. 2028-29. The institute is
also permanently affiliated to the University of Mumbai from the A.Y 2017-18
onwards.
The University of
Mumbai, in addition to granting autonomy has also granted Empowered Autonomous
status for a period of 10 years, i.e., till the A.Y. 2033-34.
National Assessment
and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has accredited DJSCE with a CGPA of 3.18 out
of 4, i.e., with an "A” Grade with effect from 18thof October
2019.
DJSCE is one of the
very few Engineering institutes in Maharashtra state that has been awarded ‘A’
Grade consecutively by the Directorate of Technical Education, M.S.
The college is one of
the very few institutes in Maharashtra state, especially in Mumbai, wherein all
the Undergraduate Programs (8 in all) have been accredited by the National
Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi.
Students of the institute,
continue to bag top positions in the merit list - retaining the status of the institutes
amongst Maharashtra’s premier colleges.
The institute is consistently ranked amongst the top 100 engineering
institutions of our country by various agencies year after year. The year wise

times, a good percentage of successful students follow up with higher studies

There are various
student chapters and clubs, totaling upto 54 student teams in the college.
These are mentored by various faculty members throughout the year for various
activities and projects.
The student chapters
of various professional bodies in the institute are IEEE, IIChE, CSI, ISME,
IETE, ACM, SAE, ISHARE, RAS, Pacemaker, S4DS, DJS SIGAI, ISACA and NSDC.
Besides these, there are 40 plus professional clubs & teams. A plethora of
activities are being conducted throughout the year under these chapters &
clubs, that give the students a professional environment and the chance to
further excel, imbibing true spirit of oneness & upholding of ethical value
system.
The institute has a
tie up with Coursera to fetch the licenses for faculty members & students
on a long term basis and many of them do a lot of courses using the platform.
Additional Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning as well as Data Science
centric courses are curated and implemented for the benefit of students from
the A.Y. 2026-27.
Faculty members
continue to organize conferences, faculty training and other development
programmes for the benefit of both students as well as faculty members of the institute
and other institutions.
Institute
provides ‘Soft Skill Training’ for the benefit of students, laying a strong
foundation for the all-round development of them.The main aim of the
training is to make our students corporate ready and to cultivate the art of Self-Management
& People Skills in themselves.
Students regularly
participate in International & National competitions, Debates, Social initiatives
and Research activities in and outside the institute throughout the year.
Individual students and teams bag top positions in various competitions at
National & International levels, often bringing glory to the institution on
a regular basis. In various Hackathon, Codethon and Datathon competitions, our
student teams continue to bag top positions and are amongst the top 1% of teams
from across India.
